We have been meeting weekly Thursdays at 6PM and doing lots of great things. Jeff has pulled out the Google Voice Kits and he and his team of kids have those running. Silas and Kyle are making great progress on their cardboard home with automation, and they’re looking for help with the interior decoration. Each week people have been delving into 3D printing, Arduinos, construction and movie making, discovering new skills and stretching their creativity!
Thursday sessions continue through Thursday August 9, and it’s never too late to stop by. With this open format you can wander in any week and try things out, even if it’s your first session of the summer.
Saturday June 28 – 9AM-12noon
Come build a cute little insect robot from a couple of motors and a tiny Arduino-compatible board. The kit cost will be around $30-$35 and includes everything needed to bring this little creature to ‘life’. In the process you’ll learn a little more about programming Arduinos and controlling motors. You can check it out at the DFRobot site.
We’ll need to figure out how many kits to purchase, so we’ll need people to contact me in advance. We need to know by Thursday June 19 at the absolute latest so I can put the order in Thursday night.
Thursday June 26 will be an Open Session. We’ll have Arduino kits available and people to help with projects. We can also take a look at designs that people might be proposing for widgets off the 3D printer.
