Thursday July 24 Dr. Shad Paris from the Department of Chemistry
and Biochemistry is going have some fiery and explosive demonstrations.
It may not be as hands on as some of the other sessions, but it
certainly will be entertaining and educational!

Saturday June 28 – 9AM-12noon
Come build a cute little insect robot from a couple of motors and a tiny Arduino-compatible board. The kit cost will be around $30-$35 and includes everything needed to bring this little creature to ‘life’. In the process you’ll learn a little more about programming Arduinos and controlling motors. You can check it out at the DFRobot site.
We’ll need to figure out how many kits to purchase, so we’ll need people to contact me in advance. We need to know by Thursday June 19 at the absolute latest so I can put the order in Thursday night.
Thursday June 26 will be an Open Session. We’ll have Arduino kits available and people to help with projects. We can also take a look at designs that people might be proposing for widgets off the 3D printer.
Thursday June 19 – 6-8PM
Ever wanted to try designing a widget that you could print? In 3D? We’ll explore the world of 3D printers and some simple design tools make this dream a reality. We’ll talk about how some of the less expensive 3D printers work and then try out a freely available design tool. Participants can take this new-found skill home and try designing something. We’ll gather at a later date to check out designs, perhaps suggest modifications and then try printing some. Prints take a while and do have certain limitations, but we’ll do our best to make your idea become reality!
