July 13 (note change of date)- 3D Printing Workshop, 2017

(Originally scheduled July 6, this event was moved to July 13.) Mr. Nick Conroy will lead a 3D printing workshop. We will have several printers available. Nick will discuss the basics of 3D printing and participants will learn how to create 3D models in Tinkercad. The printers will be available to print models, but the reality is that a single print may take a while, so some prints may need to be left for subsequent weeks. Tinkercad is a free online tool supported by Autodesk. In order to save your models, you need to set up an account at https://www.tinkercad.comĀ  There will be a limited number of temporary accounts set up, but if you can set up an account in advance (click sign up in the upper right corner of the screen), that would help.

3D Printer Workshop June 19, 2014

Thursday June 19 – 6-8PM

Ever wanted to try designing a widget that you could print? In 3D? We’ll explore the world of 3D printers and some simple design tools make this dream a reality. We’ll talk about how some of the less expensive 3D printers work and then try out a freely available design tool. Participants can take this new-found skill home and try designing something. We’ll gather at a later date to check out designs, perhaps suggest modifications and then try printing some. Prints take a while and do have certain limitations, but we’ll do our best to make your idea become reality!Replicator2
